# Dime Hound > Dime Hound is a coin value scanner app for iPhone and Android. It is in development now, with a free waitlist. This site also has free US coin value guides with value tables by grade, what to look for, and sources for every number. Dime Hound is for anyone with a jar of old coins, an inherited collection, or a coin they found in change and want to check. Snap a coin and the app gives you the ID, year, mint mark and an honest value range, with how sure it is. Most circulated coins are worth face value, and it says so plainly. US coins come first. World coins will follow. The coin value guides are free and written by Mike Moore.
